He had a farm and mining interests in the Beulah, WY area. He was also known through out the tri-state area for his "entertainment with the violin". He was married to Irene Katy Paxton. She was born August 18, 1887 in Nebraska and died March 29, 1965 in Klamath Falls, Oregon. He divorced and left Wyoming around around 1940. He settled in West Point, California around 1941 and worked in the logging industry. He moved around western Oregon and northern California quite a bit working in the logging and ranching industries. Where ever he went he ended up playing the his violin and his second wife, Lois, played the piano for dances. He was hurt in a logging mill accident in 1950.
Ren loved the West Point, CA area and he and his youngest son, Charles John "Jack" Gardner, often returned there during the 1940's. He followed his son to Boise, Idaho in 1954 and lived there until his death.
His and Irene's children were twin Roy R. Gardner who as born 1917 and died July 23, 1967; and twin Ruth G. Gardner who was born in 1917 and died in 1972; and Charles John "Jack" Gardner who was born July 19, 1925 and continues to live in Bosie, ID.
Ren and Lois had a daughter, Rendalene Gardner, who was born July 29, 1946 and died in 1980.
