Susan Frances Leroney of St. Clair, Missouri, was born on October 27, 1907 at Anaconda, Missouri, daughter of the late Willard A. Brackett and Lillian Dorothea Brackett nee Stahlman. On June 8, 1929 she was united in marriage to Edward Lincoln Leroney at St. Louis, Missouri, and two sons came to bless this union. Susan departed this life on February 3, 1992 having reached the age of eighty-four years, three months and six days.

She is survived by one son, James Leroney and wife, Darlene, of St. Clair, Missouri; by one sister, Nellie Dell of St. Clair, Missouri; by one sister-in-law, Marigold Renz of Houston, Texas; by nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild; nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son in 1974, Edward Allen Leroney; by her husband, Edward L. Leroney in 1987; by one sister, Florence Brackett; and by one half brother, Allen Brackett.

In past years, Susan had enjoyed attending the Community Baptist Church of St. Clair, Missouri. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, St. Clair Chapter #96 and had been a very active member for many of her forty-seven years of membership. Her "career" in life was that of a homemaker, always being there to meet the needs of her precious family. She had enjoyed many hobbies and interests, but especially liked to garden, raising beautiful flowers. During quieter pastimes, she enjoyed reading. The many wonderful memories of times shared with Susan will be treasured by her family forever.

A kind and loving mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, half-sister, sister-in-law, aunt, great-aunt, cousin and treasured friend, she will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.

Funeral servuces were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 5, 1992, at the Russell Colonial Funeral Chapel in St. Clair, Missouri with Reverend Earl Fedderson officiating. Eastern Star services were held at 7 p.m. Tuesday evening. Interment was in the United Methodist Cemetery, St. Clair, Missouri.
