Mr. Peart started railroading on the Delaware & Hudson Railroad in 1877 as a call boy. He became a locomotive engineer March 26, 1882. Nearly 50 years later he retired on Jan 1, 1932. He is also a long time member of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and recently received his 60-year Honor Badge.... Feb 1955 issue "The Locomotive Engineers Journal" pg 121.
