Princely House of Thurn und Taxis

He was the son of Prince Alessandro della Torre e Tasso, 1st Duke of Castel Duino, and Princess Marie of Ligne. He was the paternal grandson of Prince Alexander Johann von Thurn und Taxis and Princess Marie of Hohenlohe-Waldenburg- Schillingsfürst. He was the maternal grandson of Louis, 9th Prince of Ligne, and Elisabeth de la Rochefoucauld.

The Dukes of Castel Duino are a noble family in Italy descending from the Bohemian line of the Princely House of Thurn und Taxis. The title was created along with the additional title of Prince della Torre e Tasso in 1923 for Prince Alexander von Thurn und Taxis following his naturalization in Kingdom of Italy.

Raimundo succeeded to the dukedom in 1937.

He married Princess Eugénie of Greece and Denmark, the former wife of Prince Dominic Radziwill, in Athens in 1949. Their marriage ended in divorce in 1965.

Raimundo is survived by one son, now the 3rd Duke of Castel Duino, and three grandchildren.

His former wife is buried with him.
