Mary Ann Boie, a lifetime resident of Plainview, died Tuesday (Nov. 9, 2010) at Saint Marys Hospital in Rochester. She was 82 years old.

The funeral Mass will be 11 a.m. on Monday (Nov. 15) at St. Joachim's Catholic Church in Plainview, with Father Thien Nguyen presiding. Burial will be in St. Joachim's Cemetery. Friends may call Sunday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Schad & Zabel Funeral Home in Plainview, and one hour prior to the service Monday at the church.

She was born Mary Ann Schneider on Jan. 7, 1928, in Plainview, to Arnold and Irene (Schouweiler) Schneider. She graduated from Plainview High School in 1946, and following high school moved to Rochester and worked for Dr. Wood in the Mayo research program.

On Oct. 27, 1950, she married Leslie "Bud" Boie in Plainview. They made their home in Plainview, and Mary Ann worked for Dr. Lyle Quiram at the Plainview Dental Office for many years.

She enjoyed gardening, bowling, cooking, reading, her family, and following all of her grandchildren's activities.

Mary Ann is survived by two daughters, Bea (Kent) Harrington of Plainview, and Diana (Tim) Pries of Kellogg; one son, Dennis (Cindy) Boie of Lake City; four grandchildren, Ryan (Adde Voigt) Harrington, Molly Harrington, Megan (Yves) Alomassor and Benjamin (Cassie) Pries; three great-grandchildren; and four sisters, Dorothy Kennebeck of Wabasha, Delores Melvin of Rochester, Patricia (Arnie) Shea of La Crescent, and Irene (Lane) Buckingham of Kenyon.

She was preceded in death by her husband on Oct. 12, 2001; her parents; a daughter, Brenda; and two brothers, Francis and Art.
