Lance Cpl. James B. Stack, 20, of Arlington Heights, Ill., died Nov. 10 while conducting combat operations in Helmand province, Afghanistan. He was assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Pendleton, Calif. In addition to his wife, Katie and daughter, Mikayla, James is survived by his parents, Robert and Linda Stack; his sister, Megan Lorraine Stack; his grandparents, Jo Ann Stack and Gene Bray; his Mother-in-law, Dawn (Tom) Hedrick; and his sister-in-law, Joanne Savage; Katie's grandmother Eleanor Savage; his Father-in-Law Michael Landeweer. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Lorraine Bray and his grandfather, Robert Lee Stack.
