He was taken by ambulance to to the City hospital. The ambulance was driven by horses. He died two minutes after arriving at the hospital. One notice said heart disease, but the burial permit said nephritis.
Survived by two sons: William and Charles Burnett; and a daughter, Mrs. Anna Kelly of St. Louis.
