Mary Heil of Longmont died Saturday, April 29, 2000, at a local care center. She was 93.
She was born on March 18, 1907, in Deerfield, Kan., to Henry Koch and Margaret (Reichert) Koch.
She married Henry Heil on Feb 4, 1926 in Greeley.
She farmed with her husband in Sedgwick until 1941, when they moved to Mean and continued farming for six year.
They later moved south-east of Longmont in Weld County, where they continued to farm until 1959, when they moved into Longmont. She was active in Bethlehem Lutheran Church, until her health declined. She was a homemaker, and enjoyed cooking and sewing.
She was preceded in death by her husband, two brothers and nine sisters.
She is survived by two brothers; Henry Whittman and his wife Helen of Westminster, and Ben Whittman and his wife Mary, of Greeley; two sons, Lyle Heil and his wife Loreine of Longmont, and Larry Heil and his wife Alna of Longmont; seven grandchildren, Jane Nelsen of Virginia Beach, Va., Robert Heil and his wife Pam of Berthoud, Mary Brown and her husband Don of Louisville, Jerry Heil and his wife Julie of Longmont, Kathy Nathlich and her husband Scott of Westminster, Randy Heil and his wife Linda of Mead and Sherri Zamudio and her husband Edward of Loveland; 10 great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Visitation will be held today, May 1, 200 at Lewellen Longmont Memorial Chapel from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 2, 2000, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church at 2 p.m. with Pastor Glenn Isernhagen officiating. Interment will be at Foothills Gardens of Memory.
