Manton B. Boyers, 89, died September 27, 1953, at his home, in Lakeland, Florida, following a long illness.
A native of Campbell County, KY, Manton engaged in farming there until moving to Polk County in 1913 and becoming a school teacher. He retired from that profession after 20 years of service.
He was a member of the Gapway Baptist Church near Lakeland.
Surviving are a daughter, Mary Brown, Louisville, KY; two sons: Arthur and Edward Boyers, Alexandria, KY; a sister, Delia Ratliff, Cincinnati, OH; six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
