David Lucien Mabry was born Apr 16, 1863 and died May 25, 1889. He married Eliza Bowie Wardlaw on Nov 24, 1885. He was a graduate of the University of Virginia and a brilliant young lawyer. He was fatally shot by John T Lyon, the stepfather of Mrs Mabry. Mr Lyon was committed to jail and died the following October before being brought to trial.

Eliza Bowie and Lucien Mabry were married at 8 PM on Nov 24, 1885 at the home of Robert H Wardlaw. The wedding was performed by Rev William Franklin Pearson, pastor of the Little Mountain Church in Abbeville, SC.
