Nancy Jennie (Snody) Chaplin, dau of Jeremiah Snody and Jane T Woodcock, was born in 1869. She married Asa "Charles" Chaplin (1864-1920). Nancy and Asa had children: Harriet Edna (1893-1962), Bessie (1895-1978), Elsie (1898-1992), Ira 1908-1982), and Charles H Chaplin (1911-1989). Nancy Jennie (Snody) Chaplin died in 1946 and is buried in the Tracey Cemetery, Dresden, Washington, NY.

The funeral of Mrs. Nancy Chaplin was held from the residence of her son, Ira Chaplin, of 94 Saunders Street, Whitehall, Saturday at 2 p.m. With Rev. James A Brownlee, pastor of the Whitehall Methodist Church, officiating. Mrs. Chaplin, widow of Charles Chaplin, died Wednesday at the Harris Nursing Home in Hudson Falls, following a brief illness. Besides her son, Ira, survivors include one other son, Charles Chaplin of Whitehall, and three daughters, Mrs. Harriet Tracey and Mrs. Bessie Anderson of Dresden and Mrs. Elsie Suprise of Troy. Interment was in the Tracy Cemetery, Dresden.
