Georgia Geraldine Lacefield was born in Hardeman County, TN. She was sixteen when she married Jinkey Deroah " J.D." Simpson in Shelby County, TN in October 1911. J.D. was born in Lamar County, TX, and when he was 7 or 8 he moved with his family to Union County, MS where his parents were from. After marriage Geraldine and J.D. lived in Aberdeen, MS and then on to Temple, Bell County, TX where J.D. died in 1955, and Geraldine in 1981. They had a daughter named Helen. Their young niece from Mississippi lived with them in Temple whose name was also Geraldine.
