Final rites for Jesse Wootten Booker, Sr., 89, prominent Martinsville merchant and esteemed citizen who succumbed early Thursday morning to an extended illness at his home on Church Street, were held from the late residence this afternoon. Burial followed in Oakwood Cemetery.
Members of Piedmont Lodge of Masons served as active pall bearers.
Surviving, besides his wife, Mrs. Sallie C. Booker, are the following children: Mesdames T. W. Carter, George P. Dillard and R. Sidney King; Messrs. J. W., S. E., L. S., and F. C. Booker.

"Mr. and Mrs. Fletcher Booker who were here last week-end to attend the funeral of their father, the late J. W. Booker, returned yesterday to their home in Wilkes-Barre, Pa."
