Revolutionary War Veteran - A member of the Lancaster County Militia, 1st Company, 5th Battalion, 2nd class, under Capt. McIlvain. He is shown as "Loudwig Ranck" in the report for 1772 and successive years. The p 992 reference is a Capt. James Watson report for 1778 showing him as "Ludwick Ranck." DAR and Lancaster County Historical Library records him as a Private.
