LaFayette N. DeCoster, 60 of 1 Pearl Ave., Onset, died Saturday, Sept. 10, at his home, following a brief illness. He was the husband of Susanna (Porter) DeCoster. Born in Brockton, he was the son of the late George and Amelia DeCoster of Brockton. He had lived in Wareham the past 30 years. Mr. DeCoster was employed at the Ocean Spray Cranberry Co. for 15 years.
Besides his widow, he is survived by four sons, George of Hyannis; Robert of 1 Pearl Ave., Onset; Ray A. of Riverside Drive, Onset; and Edison of Lincoln, R.i.; a daughter, Mrs. Amelia Clark of West Yarmouth, and 11 grandchildren.
Visiting hours were held on Sunday at the Cornwell Memorial Chapel in Wareham. The Rev. Arthur Q. Smith, pastor of the Onset Community Methodist Church, officiated at the funeral services held in the Onset Community Methodist Church on Monday at 2 p.m. Burial was in Center Cemetery, Wareham.
