Vivian Belle married Frederick Shepherd on May 4, 1942 in Oahkoah.

The community was saddened by the death of Mrs. Frederick Shepherd, at the Oshkosh hospital, on Thursday, September 4, 1947. Her age at death was 24 years, 6 months, 18 days.

Vivan Belle, daughter of Maurice and Icel Lena (Van Newkirk) Kiley was born in Antelope Valley, Garden County, Nebraska, December 18, 1922. Her early life was spent in the parental home. She attended the public schools having finished two years in the Garden County high school.

She was united in marriage to Frederick Shepherd, May 4, 1942, in Oshkosh. Since the time her husband was in the service she lived with her mother. She entered the hospital to be delivered of her first born child which was stillborn The day following she also passed through the Valley of the Shadow.

She was preceded in death by her father on October 15, 1942. Besides the sorrowing husband and mother, she is survived by her grandmother, Mrs. Clista Pringle and many other relatives and friends who sympathize with the sorrowing ones in their sad bereavement. Services were held Sunday, September 7, at the Wright chapel with Rev. W. C. Heidenreich in charge. Burial was in Antelope Valley cemetery.
