The November 30, 1951 edition of The Robesonian included the following: Dillon S.C. - Duncan McLaurin, 79, died at his residence in the Carolina section Saturday. Funeral services were held at the graveside at in Carolina cemetery last Sunday at 3:30 p.m. with the Rev. N. G. Barron in charge assisted by the Rev. Fred J. Hay of Dillon, the Rev. A. N. Littlejohn of Timmonsville and the Rev. A. L. McLaurin of Mullins. A son of the late George and Mary McInnis McLaurin, he was active in church and school circles in the Carolina section. He had a leading part in the development of schools and the church, held many offices in the Carolina Presbyterian Church and was a member of the school board. Mr. McLaurin is survived by five children Miss Pearl McLaurin, Mrs. Grady Alford and Malcolm McLaurin of the Carolina section, R. Lee McLaurin of Dillon and Mrs. T. M. McRimmon of Rowland, 10 grandchildren, two sisters, Miss Blanche McLaurin and Mrs. J. C. Bennett of Carolina. His wife was the late Mrs. Lillie Parrish McLaurin.
