s/o John & Beulah Victoria PRINDLE Chasteen. He was married Nov. 26, 1937, Mansfield, Tarrant, Texas to Edith Alice JONES, d/o John Bradford & Effie Julie CHILDERS Jones.

Archie died at Pecan Manor Medical Center of Kennedale, Sunday @ 4:45 p.m.

Survivors: Wife, Edith Chasteen of Mansfield; one daughter, Virginia Doris Saunders Williams of Arlington; two brothers, Earl and Bobby Gene Chasteen, both of Hico; one sister, Oleta Oliver of Grand Prairie; three grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at Central Baptist Church; burial at Mansfield Cemetery under direction of Blessing Funeral Home, Mansfield.

FOR CLARIFICATION PURPOSES: The birth certificate for Archie Melvin Chasteen was issued many years after Archie was born. Archie apparently needed a birth certificate and when he filled out the form, he inadvertently showed his mother's maiden name as PRINDLE. His mother is Beulah Victoria FARMER. His "grandmother" Chasteen is a PRINDLE/PRINGLE. Consequently, this surname for Beulah V. FARMER Chasteen has caused some confusion. Beulah Victoria Farmer is shown in the 1900 census living with her grandparents, Andrew D. Farmer. In the 1910 census, Beulah is married to John Chasteen. At this time, the names of her parents is not known. However, as soon as this is determined, it will be posted on findagrave.com
