Funeral services for Mrs. Vernettie Hamilton Nickelsen, 71, of Bunceton, who died Tuesday, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, at Humphrey's Creek Christian Church near Tuscumbia. The Rev. Mark Sooter will officiate. Burial will be in Capps Cemetery.

Mrs. Nickelson was born Aug. 19, 1893, at St. Elizabeth, the daughter of Joseph and Melissa Orle (Owrey) Barnhart. She was married Sept. 10, 1912 to James Hamilton. He died Jan. 20, 1939. She was later married to Joseph Nickelson of Polosi.

Mrs. Nickelson had lived in Bunceton for several years.

She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Edna Jones, Edwardsville, Ill., Mrs. Marjorie Decker and Mrs. Mary Lodendecker, both of St. Louis; four sons, Stanley Hamilton, House Springs; James Hamilton, Bunceton; Otis Hamilton, Kansas City and Raymond Hamilton, San Francisco, Calif; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Craighead, Denver, Colo., and Mrs. Ida Ahart, Eldon; two brothers, Adam Barnhart, Granite City, Ill., and Robert Barnhart, Collinsville, Ill.; 16 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
