Wallingford - The funeral of Aaron Preston was held Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the Congregational church. Rev. O.R. Houghton officiated. The bearers were Frank Hawkins, Clarence Ward, Walter Maranville, Fred Miner, John Brown and W.F. Hagar. Burial was in Green Hill cemetery. There were flowers from Kearney W.R.C., Sons of Veterans and many others from relatives and neighbors. Mr. Preston was born in this town and had spent his life here, being in his 77th year. He was a Civil war veteran, serving in Company F, 147th New York volunteers. He is survived by his wife, one son, Bert Preston of Lynn, Mass. Two daughters died several years ago, Mrs. Herbert Cummings and Mrs. Leslie Davison. Those from out of town who attended the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Cummings and son of West Haven, Charles Preston of Windsor and Bert Preston and son of Lynn, Mass.
