Dennis W. Beshea

SAREPTA - Mr. Dennis Wayne Beshea, 50, of the Sarepta/Porterville community, died Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2004 at LSU Health Sciences Center in Shreveport following a lengthy illness. Funeral service was held at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 6, at Old Sarepta Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Charles Woolley officiating. Burial followed in State Line Cemetery in Walker Creek, Ark., with Bailey Mortuary Inc. of Springhill in charge. A wake was held all day Thursday, Feb. 5, at Old Sarepta Missionary Baptist Church.

Mr. Beshea was born Jan. 29, 1954 to Billy Jack and Helen Mae Hamiter Beshea in Springhill. He was a life-long resident of this area, member of Old Sarepta Missionary Baptist Church, former oilfield worker and a construction welder helper.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jack Beshea; and a nephew, Larry D. Wallace.

Survivors include a daughter, Deana Joy Sheats and her husband, Larry Ronald Jr., of Lithia Springs, Ga.; three grandsons, Christopher Robert Duggar, Jonathon Matthew Duggar and Zachary Taylor Sheats, all of Lithia Springs; his mother, Helen Mae Beshea of Sarepta; two sisters, Sherry B. Wallace and her husband, Larry, of Plain Dealing/Mott community and Jacque L. Zeman and her husband, John, of Flagstaff, Ariz.; a brother, Rusty Beshea and his wife, Linda, of Sarepta; three nephews, Kevin Wallace of Plain Dealing, Billy Jack Beshea and Dane Beshea, both of Sarepta; a niece, Danielle Wynn of Flagstaff; two great-nieces, Kayla Wallace of Taylor, Ark., and Paige Beshea of Sarepta; and his girlfriend, Sharon Bassinger of Springhill.

Pallbearers were Tommy Benson, Mike Duck, Mark Waddle, Roger Burrow, Mike Sumner, Benny Hock, Earl West and Bryan Carson. Honorary pallbearers were Mark Fish and Mark Patrick.
