J. Edgar Hagin, 63, died Tuesday at Bulloch Memorial Hospital after a short illness.
The Bulloch County native was owner and operator of Hagin and Olliff Oil Company and was a distributor of Texaco products.
He was elected Bulloch County commissioner in 1992, serving until his death. He was a member of the Statesboro Kiwanis Club, the Georgia Oilmens Association and the Bulloch County Livestock Association. He was a veteran of the Korean War and a member of the Statesboro Primitive Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Faye Smith Hagin, Statesboro; a daughter, Deborah Hatten, Statesboro; a son, Jim Hagin, Statesboro; his stepmother, Ruth Hagin, Statesboro; and one grandson, Michael Hatten, Statesboro.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Statesboro Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Shelton Mikell and Elder George Daunhamer officiating. Burial will be in Bulloch Memorial Gardens.
