Miner Struck by Street Car Twenty-Ninth Is Dead
Corner Holds Inquest
No One Held Responsible for the Death - Deceased Leaves
Family of Eleven Children

John W. Jones, the miner who was struck by a street car on East Main Street Nov. 28, died at the St. Elizabeth hospital Sunday from the injuries. The coroner held an inquest Monday and a verdict of accidental death was returned. No one is held responsible for the accident.
O. M. Butler was the principal witness. He testified that he was on the car the struck deceased. Said the car was approaching the Wabash crossing and moving at a slow rate of speed. Deceased started across the street and though the motorman was ringing the bell, stepped in front of the car and was knocked down. He said the man seemed to be in deep study at the time an unmindful of the danger.
Deceased was a miner. He was 28 years of age and leaves a wife and eleven children. He lived in Love township. The funeral will be held from the home on Tuesday.
