Harper died on February 3, 1890 in Glasford, Illinois. Harper was married to Mary Major on June 3, 1839 in Dearborn Co., Indiana. Mary was born on __________ __, 18__ at __________, Ohio. Mary is believed to have died on __________ __, 1853 near Lancaster, Illinois. Harper is known to have married Mrs. Mary E. or A. (Shuman) Mason and had several more children. Mary Ann Shuman was born c. 1832/33 in Canada married to Joseph Mason on October 31, 1852 in Fulton County. The marriage of Harper Lacock to Mrs. Mary Mason is recorded as having occurred on April 9, 1863 in Peoria County. Yet several children are known to have been born to Harper Laycock between 1853 when Mary (Major) Laycock is supposed to have died and April of 1863 when Harper is supposed to have been married to Mrs. Mary Mason.
