Calvin died on 13 Feb 1822--just barely 6 months after their marriage leaving Nancy pregnant with their only child John Calvin Lazell Smith. On 16 April 1826 Nancy married Samuel Ruggles Aiken in New Salem, Massachusetts. They became the parents of 4 known children: Samuel Ruggles, Jr., Benjamin Burk, Nancy Lazell and Fanny Mason. In 1848 Nancy, her husband Samuel, and their children Benjamin and Fanny came across the plains to Utah in the Willard Richards Company. I'm not sure if she and Samuel divorced or just separated, but she is buried under the name Smith and in the 1850 census she is listed as Smith also.
