Clemson B. McGinnis, better known as Clem to his many friends in this locality, passed away Tuesday afternoon at the home of his brother, Joe, where he had been confined in the past several months. Clem was well known and well liked by a large number of people here and for several years, enjoyed life on the Sandridge and melon growing. At one time, he homesteaded land in Colorado and lived there for several years. The deceased was a man of genial and easy disposition and easily made friends with all whom he came in contact with. During his illness, he was cared for by his brothers, George and Joe.

Obituary for Clemson B. McGinnis

Clemson B. McGinnis was born on March 27, 1864 at Menommee, Wisconsin, and departed this life, Feb. 16th, 1937, at the home of his brother, Joseph McGinnis, at Thomson, Illinois. He was the son of Enoch and Beulah Buckley McGinnis and was one of a family of twelve children. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mae Atherton McGinnis and also by a son, Earl McGinnis. Surviving him are two brothers, Joseph and George, and two sisters, Mrs. Ella Stumphy and Mrs. Ida Frederick, all of Thompson. Funeral services will be held this Thursday afternoon at two-thirty from the Christian church at Thomson, with the Rev. Corwin, of Fulton, officiating. Interment will be in the Argo-Fay Cemetery.
