Death of Dr. Barbour

Word has been received here of the death of Dr. Lewis Green Barbour at the home of his son, Dr. Phil Barbour, in Louisville, Kentucy, Wednesday.

Dr. Barbour was well known by the older citizens of Lexington, where he lived many years, having had charge of Elizabeth Aull Seminary until after the war, when on account of the oat required of preachers and teachers he went to Kentucky. He conducted a girls school for years in Danville, was instrumental in organizing Central University, and was for twenty-seven years professor of mathematics in that University.

Dr. Barbour was 78 years old. He was buried in Danville. He leaves a family of two sons, Dr. Phil Barbour of Louisville and Dr. James Barbour of Baltimore and two daughters, Misses Bessie and Caroline.
