Henry C Williams
Hyde Co., NC-A tragic accident occurred Nov. 20, 1940 when Mr. Claudius Williams and his three sons, Henry Carroll, Hubert, and Lloyd, were out gathering corn with two wagons. They were using one wagon and had tied the reins of the other and left them. The horses became frightened and began to run. All three of the boys made and effort to stop them. In the struggle Henry Carroll was jerked down and run over and received such outward and inward bruises that he died about 7:00 PM that night. The accident took place before noon. Henry Carroll Williams was a good young man with a family consisting of a wife Roma Hilda McKinney Williams, and one child Hilda Williams. He was a member of the Disciple Church. Mr. Williams had a close call out on Swan Quarter Bay about 8 months ago when he spent a most bitter night out at sea. Interment was made in Fortesque Creek cemetery, Hyde co., NC.
Survivors are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Claudius Williams; one sister Mrs. Joy Carowan of Hyde Co., NC; two brothers, Hubert and Lloyd Williams of Hyde Co., NC
Services were conducted by the undertaker, Mr. D.L. Berry.
