Son of Earley H. Dye (1821 - 1888) and Mary M. (Thurman) (1817 - 1889)

At the time of the 1860 census, Monroe Dye was 13 years old and attending school. The family lived in Polk County, TN.

Was married around 1871 in TN, as Flora (their first child) was born in 1872(?)

He obtained 98 acres of land in a maintenance deed from Mary M. Dye (his mother?) in Fannin Co. on Dec. 7, 1890. Date received was Feb. 28, 1894. The land was in lots 129 and 130, in the eighth district second section. (from Georgia Archives, drawer 13, roll 56 on pg. 531. The actual deed is shown on roll 46, book N, pages 283 and 284. (c) 1990's)

Died at the home of Emma Clayton (his granddaughter) on April 1, 1926 after a two-month illness, at the age of 79.
