Margaret Wilma Albertsen was born November 30, 1933, the daughter of Ernest and Anna Meggers Meeves. The family lived on a farm near Arion, Iowa. Margaret was baptized February 11, 1934, at Zion Lutheran Church, Denison, where she was later confirmed in 1947. She received her education at Zion Lutheran School and Denison Community Schools. During her senior year of high school, she moved to Ida Grove, Iowa when her mother remarried and graduated from the Ida Grove High School.

On September 20, 1953, Margaret was united in marriage with Maynard Albertsen and they were blessed with two children: Keith and Sue Ann. After living a short time in Ida Grove, they moved to Norfolk, Nebraska where she baked and decorated cakes and worked from home. In 1965 the Albertsens returned to Denison, Iowa where Margaret was employed at Crawford County Memorial Hospital and Dr. Soll's office. In 1974 her dream came true and she opened up Albertsen's Flower Boutique in the basement of her home on First Avenue South. Margaret worked her business hand in hand with her daughter Sue for thirty plus years until she was unable due to failing health.

Flowers and people were her passion along with her garden in the back yard of her home. She always found time to visit with friends and worked all hours in the flower shop making sure each flower order was done to her liking. She was a very generous and hard working person. Her dimpled smile is a memory to many that knew her.

Margaret enjoyed her membership in Our Savior Lutheran Church, Red Hatters, Master Gardeners and Genealogy Groups. Her strong faith in God always showed through whether it was in conversations or her love of giving to others.

Since 2006 Margaret had resided at Eventide Lutheran Home where her death occurred November 1, 2010.
