Pearl Gilkey
CLIFTON, W.Va. - Pearl Gilkey, 96, formerly of Pomeroy, died Wednesday, Jan. 24, 2001 in Pleasant Valley Rehabilitation Center, Point Pleasant, W.Va.
He was the son of the late Allen and Kate Howett Gilkey, and was a carpenter.
He was a member of Bradford Church of Christ, Carpenters Local 650 in Pomeroy, and was an honorary member of the Big Bend Chapter of Sam's RV Club.
He was also preceded in death by his wife, Clara Stahl Gilkey; three brothers, George, Harry and Guy Gilkey; two sisters, Hazel Gilkey Ackers and Rhonda Gilkey Lay; and three infant brothers.
Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Pearl Richard and Phyllis Gilkey of Clifton; a grandson; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday in Birchfield Funeral Home, Rutland, with Doug Shamblin officiating. Burial will be in Gravel Hill Cemetery, Cheshire.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 5-8 p.m. Friday.
