Phyllis Marie Hamilton, "Grandma Pat," 71, passed away peacefully in her sleep October 30, 2010, at her home in Summerset, SD.
Pat was born May 18, 1939, in Walker, MN to Mayme Mae Beard and Phillip Jesse Helmer. She moved to Summerset, SD in 2010 to live near two of her sons and her grandchildren. Previous to her move to Summerset, she lived in Elk River, MN for over 30 years. Pat was known by her children as the "best cook on planet earth," and loved to do puzzles, cross-stitch, and make quilts which she bestowed on several family members and friends. She was proud of her lineage as the 9th great-granddaughter of Governor William Bradford of the Mayflower and Plymouth Plantation.
Family preceding her in death includes her parents; her siblings Phillip Helmer, Lovicy Huseth, and Wesley Helmer; husband Richard Hamilton; and five children, Jeffrey, Mervin, Merlene, Brian, and Dawn Marie Gilbert.
Pat had a strong faith in her Savior Jesus Christ, and she looked forward to the day she would see Him face-to-face. That day has now come, and she will be missed by those who loved her.
