ER "SCOOTS" BRYANT passed away peacefully in his home on 10/31/2010 at the age of 93. Born in Bucholtz Texas on March 22, 1917 Scoots was a direct descendent of Major Benjamin Franklin Bryant, a war hero in the Battle of San Jacinto. He was a decorated war hero himself having fought in the African Campaign of WW II. After the war, Scoots and his bride Anne settled in Houston and were pioneers in the marketing and sales of automobiles owning one of the largest car dealerships in Houston. His entrepreneurial spirit led him to open other businesses including a rental shop and motorcycle dealership. An avid pilot, having owned a fleet of planes including a seaplane, he and Anne would often land in the surf off of Galveston. Scoots was involved in many environmental causes and spearheaded the effort to keep the Galveston Beaches free of vehicular traffic. "Scoots" and Anne retired to Galveston around 1985.

Scoots was preceded in death by his wife Anne Bryant. He is survived by his five children Anel Harvey, Thomas and Rose Bryant, Jerry and Mary Bryant, Monica Morris, William and Cindy Bryant. Grandchildren-Zack Sales, Vanessa and Kirk McKee, Rachel and Mason McCune Justin Bryant, Brittany Bryant and Matthew Morris.

Great Grandchildren- Dillon and Nathan McKee, brothers in law Tom and Bill Schmidt many nieces, nephews and loving friends.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, November 5, 2010 at 2:00pm at Crowder Funeral Home, 111 E. Medical Center Blvd., Webster, Texas 77598. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery in Dickinson, Texas.
