John Binder received word today of the death of his twin brother, George Bender, 72, of Chicago, a former resident of New Castle.
George Bender died Friday evening in Michael Reese Hospital. He resided in Chicago since leaving New Castle in 1923. He had been ill for about eight weeks.
Born in Transylvania on July 5, 1890, he went to Ellwood City in 1907 and then to New Castle in 1910 where he was employed at the Shenango Tin Mill.
His wife, the former Sarah Roth, survives with four children: Mrs. Sandy Adams, Mrs. Ann Montgomery, Mrs. Betty Ghardini and George Edward Bender, all in Chicago; his twin brother, John Binder of New Castle; a sister, Mrs. John Schotsch in Canada; seven grandchildren and one great grandchild.
The body is at the Drake Funeral Home, 5303 North Western Ave., Chicago, where services were be held. Burial will follow the service in Chicago, at Rosehill Cemetery.
