Mrs. Alice J. Hutton, formerly of 911 Seventh street SE, died in a Cedar Rapids hospital Monday at 5:40 p.m. following a long illness. Mrs. Hutton was born Jan. 5, 1860, at Linn Grove. She was married to Samuel Nitterhizer June 22, 1879, at Ely, and later was married to George Hutton July 22, 1896, in Cedar Rapids. Both Mr. Nitterhizer and Mr. Hutton preceded her in death.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. A.A. Wood, Cedar Rapids, and Mrs. William Sloan, Rock Island; two sisters, Mrs. W.F. Yeager, Cedar Rapids, and Mrs. Charles Frisby of Texas; six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was a member of the Baptist church at Ely.
Services will be held in the Turner chapel at 1 p.m. Thursday, the Rev. Frank Ward officiating. Burial will be in the old Dunkard church cemetery at Ely. Friends may call at the chapel.
