Allen Haskell
(October 10, 1929 - September 30, 2010)

A. Allen Haskell, 80, of Redfield, SD, died Thursday, September 30, 2010 at Community Memorial Hospital in Redfield. His funeral will be Monday, October 4, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. at United Methodist Church in Redfield. Reverend Stephen Perry will officiate. After a time for lunch and fellowship the burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery in Frankfort. Visitation will be Sunday from 2-8:00 p.m. with the family present from 2-4:00 p.m. at Thelen Funeral Home in Redfield. In lieu of flowers the family

Allen was born October 10, 1929 in Conde, SD to Arthur Allen and Lena (Miles) Haskell. Allen and his family lived in Conde before moving to Frankfort where he graduated from Frankfort High School in 1947. He attended South Dakota State University in Brookings before he started farming. Allen married Eldwin Bahde on August 31, 1951 in Minneapolis, MN. He farmed all his life in the Frankfort area, semi-retiring in 1991 when they moved to Redfield.

Allen and Eldwin enjoyed traveling and spent their winters in Golf Shores, AL. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and keeping his yard in immaculate shape.

He was a member of the United Methodist Church, Masonic Lodge for over fifty years and a past 4-H leader.

Allen is survived by his wife Eldwin of Redfield, their children: Gary Haskell, Roxanne Jensen of Hoyt Lakes, MN; and Scott (Vicky) Haskell of Frankfort. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Carmen (Todd) Davis, Toni (Shawn) Evans, Nicole Ehrich, Brandi (Ken) Hascall, Nathan Ehrich, Heidi (Simon) Appel and Joseph (Lindsey) Haskell, fourteen great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister and brother-in-law Norma and Bob Bradeen.
