He was born in Hardin County, the son of the late William and Bess Poole Strickland. He was united in marriage to Dorothy Gant, who survives.
Mr. Strickland was a hog farmer. Mr. Strickland was a member of Russell's Chapel Methodist Church.
Services were held on Saturday, June 5, at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Tony Polk officiating. Burial was in the Memory Gardens at Savannah.
In addition to his wife, Dorothy of Savannah, he is survived by one sister, Sue Majors of Savannah.
He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Ruth Penner and Era Sanders.
