He was the 7th child born to Jacob & Susanna Alishouse. He and Sarah were married June 8, 1893 in Odon, Daviess Co.,IN. Grant was 25 and Sarah was 17 years old when they married.They resided at the home place with Grant's mother for several years in Odon,IN. Then moved to CO in 1910. He was 6 foot 8 inches tall which was an uncommon height in 1900.His homestead was 16 miles south and 6 1/2 miles east of Akron, CO and it was a 1/2 section.
