David Keith Shipps, 77, passed away Monday, Nov. 1, 2010, at home surrounded by family. Service: 3:30 p.m. Thursday in Mount Olivet Chapel. Interment: Mount Olivet Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Mount Olivet Funeral Home. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Browning Heights Presbyterian Church. David was born Dec. 6, 1932, in Arkoe, Mo., to Seth and Fern Shipps. He moved to Fort Worth in 1949 and graduated from Technical High School in 1950. He was a veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard. He married Maxine Poynor in 1953 and they were married 56 years. David has worked in the printing industry for almost 60 years. He owned or operated The Printing Center from 1960 until 1996 and The Right Printer since 1996. David was a charter member of Browning Heights Presbyterian Church and a Hall of Fame inductee of the Fort Worth Litho Club. David helped several people get a start in their own printing-related businesses. David was a devoted husband and father, hard working, honest, a patient and generous person. Survivors: Wife of 56 years, Maxine Shipps; sons, David, Scotty and wife, Debbie, Louis and Donnie and wife, Amy; two grandsons; three granddaughters; three great-grandchildren; sisters, Diane Barnett and husband, Emery, and Sharron Bonner; and every kid who ever showed up at his house and called him Mr. Shipps, Dad or Pawpaw.
