The youngest of six children of Peter C. and Caroline (Anderson) Johnson, she was born Jan. 22 1882 near Windom. She received her formal education in rural schools.
Following her marriage to Thomas Martin Severson on Feb. 7, 1905, at Windom, they resided in Anoka unitl 1908. Next, they moved to Cottonwood County where they farmed for 11 years. In 1919, they moved to a farm near Almora and in 1924 they built the Hi-Way Park Store. They retired and sold the store in 1946.
Several years after her huaband's death on Dec. 23, 1957 she moved to an apartment in Henning. Since January of 1974, she had been a resident of Henning Nursing Home.
She belonged to Country Homemakers Club, District 124 Rural School Activities, the local senior citizens group and the First Baptist Church and its Mission Circle.
Survivors include two of three daughters, Mrs. Ralph (Ethel) Syverson, Parkers Prairie and Mrs. Donald (Grace) Bauman, Waterloo, Iowa; three of four sons, Harold of Dragoon, Ariz., Leonard of Henning and Donald of Spokane, Wash.; 23 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
Vlsitation at Belmont Funeral Home, Henning, will be all day Friday.
