Belle was the daughter of Harvey Foster Bassett & Sarah Chilton Bassett. She married twice. The first marraige was to James Bulger Altum on Sept.27,1874. The second marraige was to Alexander Hayes Scott. She was the Mother of Charles Alvie Altum, Oliver Harvey Altum and Lula May Altum. She is buried beside her sons Charles and Oliver Altum. Her headstone is broken in half.
