C.S.A. Richmond Artillery, 2nd Lieutenant Gilmor's Maryland Cavalry. A carpenter by trade. Born in Baltimore City, Maryland son of John E. and Amelia Holmes. Served his native state Maryland in the Confederate Army, although Maryland didn't have the chance to secede. After the war he wed Annie A. O'Bannon on July 5th, 1866 daughter of Hiram and Mary O'Bannon of Jefferson County, Virginia. After Annie died he wed Idella, out living her by 8 years Julius died at the age of 72 of Brights disease in Jefferson County, West Virginia.
