Bobbie Charles Farthing, 72, passed away Monday, December 15, 2008, at Palmetto Health Baptist in Easley.
Born in Avery County, N.C., he was a son of the late Ernest Lee and Corda Hollars Farthing. Mr. Farthing was a retired heavy equipment operator and a member of Shiloh Baptist Church.
Surviving is his wife of 7 years, Phyllis Wright Farthing of the home; daughter, Debora Ownby and husband John II; sons, Lee Farthing and wife Shannon, and Paul Farthing and wife Teresa; brother, Ray Farthing; sic grandchildren, John Ownby III, Joshua Farthing, Jeremy Farthing, Katie Farthing, Corey Farthing and Travis Farthing; three great-grandchildren, John Ownby IV, Chastity Farthing and Julie Farthing; and a special cousin, Bill Benfield.
Funeral services will be held at 11 o'clock Wednesday morning at Shiloh Baptist Church with burial to follow at Grandview Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 Tuesday evening at The Howze Mortuary. The family will be at the home.
