Myrtle Nelson Rites Monday

Funeral services were held March 26 at 2:00 p.m.. at the United Methodist Church in Wolbach for Myrtle E. Nelson. Rev. Harold Onwiler officiated. Mrs. Nelson died March 22 at Wolbach.

Burial was in Hillside Cemetery at Wolbach.

Mrs. George Jacobson accompanied Mrs. Larry Steenson as she sang "Amazing Grace" and "Rock of Ages."

Casketbearers were Mike Nelson, Pat Nelson, Dennis Nelson, Dwight Martin, Mark Townsend and Kenny Mitchell.

Arrangements were by McIntyre-Jacobsen Funeral Home at Wolbach.

Myrtle Evelyn Nelson was born September 16, 1898 at Wolbach, the daughter of Charles and Jennie Horn Sowers. She attended Wolbach schools and grew to womanhood in the area.

On February 28, 1920 she was united in marriage to Emmet Nelson at Central City. The couple first resided at Central City. They lived there until moving to a farm near Silver Creek and later to a farm near Wolbach. In 1936 (this year was fuzzy so may be different) they moved to Omaha where Mr. Nelson was employed by the railroad. In 1944, they retired and moved back to Wolbach.

Mrs. Nelson was a member of the United Methodist Church of Wolbach. She passed from the life on Thursday, March 22, 1979 at her home at the age of 80 years.

Survivors include six daughters, Miss Viora Nelson of Wolbach, Mrs. Allen (Dorothy) Wagner of Fresno, California, Mrs. Kay (Bernetta) Goodrich and Mrs. Richard (Darlene) Friese, both of Landers, Wyoming. Mrs. John (Leona) Campbell of Omaha and Mrs. Geraldine FUller of Fremont, five sons, Charles, Denton and Larry of Ft. Calhoun, Vinton of Wolbach and Loren of Omaha; a sister, Mrs. Edna Martin of Bristow, Oklahoma; 36 grandchildren (this number was difficult so may be different) and 29 great- grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband who died in February of 1951, a son, Harley, six sister, Leatha Murphy, Lillian Lyons, Nora Jones, Bernetta Hollenback and two infant sisters, Nellie and Laura and parents.
