John was admitted as a patient at the Western State Mental Hospital and died there in the Ft. Supply Insane Asylum Cemetery. The Insane Asylum was opened in 1908 and there's a long history of mistreatment and abuse of the inmates up until the 60s or so. Inmates were buried with simple concrete markers, the majority of which have been damaged.
I have been working with the graves list and have spent an enormous amount of time piecing together stone fragments and matching people to a stone and a lot number. Everyone deserves to be known by someone and many of these people were forgotten.
