GRAND PRAIRIE — Vigil services for Mary E. Gauna, 40, of Irving will be at 7 p.m. today at Guerrero-Dean Funeral Chapel.

Mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Grand Prairie.

Burial will be at Oak Grove Memorial Park in Irving under the direction of Guerrero-Dean Funeral Home of Grand Prairie.

She was born Nov. 19, 1960, in Slaton and graduated from Shallowater High School in 1979. She also was a graduate of West Texas State University in Canyon.

She was a nurse for various hospitals, including St. Mary of the Plains, Harris Methodist H.E.B. and, most recently, Zale Lipshy University Hospital in Dallas, where she was named "Nurse of the Year" in 1999.

Survivors include her father, Fred of Grand Prairie; two brothers, John of Grand Prairie and Richard of Pasadena; and a sister, Teresa of Grand Prairie.
