Prominent Citizen Drowned
LULING, Dec. 24, 1877
On last Friday Mr. Thomas Greenwood, son of Rev. J.C. Greenwood of Luling, Tex, was drowned in the San Marcos river. The river was very high, and in attempting to swim his horse over he lost his life. The whole neighborhood have been hunting for his body but up to this writing, Monday 24th, with no success. He left a wife and child. Much sympathy is expressed for the estimable family all over this county.
