Mrs. Berniece B. Nott
Council Grove-Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Kendall Funeral Chapel here for Mrs. Berniece B. Nott, 77, Council Grove, who died Wednesday, Jan. 30, at a Council Grove hospital.
Mrs. Nott and her husband owned and managed Nott's Dry Goods Store and later a Gambles Store in Council Grove. They also were part-owners of an oil refinery in Texas.
She was born June 19, 1907, at Council Grove, the daughter of Tom and Alice Reece Stevenson, and lived in the Council Grove community all her life.
Mrs. Nott was a member of the United Methodist Church at Dunlap.
She was married to Gaylord Nott Jan. 21, 1932, at Burlington. He survives.
Other survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Darlene Hazen, Peabody; a son, William Nott, Milwaukee; two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery at Council Grove. Mrs. Nott will lie in state from 10 a.m. Sunday until 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to Morris County Hospital Child Care Center at Council Grove.
