Daniel W. Amos, machinist and a master at his trade, died at Saxton on Sunday, September 19, of hemorrhages, aged 75 years, 10 months and 15 days. He was born in Bedford in 1833 and was a son of the late John Amos. November 26, 1863, he was married to Miss Margaret Cypher, who preceded him to the world beyond. Deceased was a brother of the late Josiah Amos of this place. The following children survive: Mrs. H. E. Syling and Glen C. Amos, of Pittsburg; H. Edward, of Philadelphia; William R., Mrs. S. C. Bowers, and Mrs. J. C. Young, all of Saxton. Also two brothers and two sisters: Samuel B. and Francis M. Amos of this place, Mrs. Rebecca Akers of Altoona, and Mrs. Sarah Bagley of Bedford Township. Rev. E. L. Eslinger had charge of the funeral services which were held at 10:30 o'clock Wednesday morning. Interment in the Fockler Cemetery.
