Alvin was born in Graham Lakes Township the son of Nick & Emma Schafer Leinen. He grew up in Graham Lakes Township where his parents farmed and received his education at the district school there. On September 6, 1948 he and Irene Lambert were united in marriage. Following their marriage they lived on the home farm and continued farming until 1969 when they moved into Fulda and retired. He was a member of St. Gabriel's Catholic Church in Fulda.
Alvin & Irene are the parents of Shirley (Eddie) Lewis, Alvin Jr & Sandra Leinen.
Alvin's siblings include Leo Leinen, Margaret (Leo) Hart, Marie Leinen, Lorraine (Herb) Schafer & Alice (Tom) Moore. Alvin was preceded in death by 1 brother & 1 sister.
Funeral services were held March 14 from St. Gabriel's Catholic Church, Rev. Donald Olson officiating.
